Do you know what a fistula is?

Posted on March 30th, 2007 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Read this article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/ethiopia_fistula_dc

Pretty crazy huh? It would suck to have that happen to you.
But an “end fistula” campaign just sounds kind of funny.

This disease reminds me other “third world” ailments like the one that is popular in Viet Nam, “leprosy”. When I was a kid, my parents always told me horror stories about leprosy victims, and if they touch me I would become a one and have to sit on the corner and beg.

Scary stuff. :-(

I went to watch 300 at the IMAX theater in sac the other day. What a rip off. $15 dollars a ticket ( so $30 total ) + $5 atm fee because their credit card system was not working. + $9 for parking + $5 dollars for getting more money out of the ATM to pay for paying + tripping and falling because the ground was wet. The worse part was getting yelled at by my girlfriend for not listening to her and getting money earlier.

They said the screen was 6-story high, BS! Unless you are a horbit, ain’t no way you can fit a 6-story building on that screen. Secondly, the movie was only shown in the middle, about 6 feet on top and bottom were cut off. IMAX my arse!

The movie itself, well I actually saw a history channel special on this movie before I saw it. I must say that the history channel recollection of the war was much more interesting. They actually talked about the controversies surrounding the war and the different techniques and innovation that made the war the way it was. The movie told a twisted story that reminded me of Kill Bill.

It wasn’t a bad movie per se, but I think it would have been more interesting if they stuck to history. This reminds me of how contestants on American Idol always try to add their own flavor to the songs. In the end they ruin the song and they sound terrible. This movie was somewhere the same.

I heard on NPR today a story that makes me cringe. I believe this was in Wisconsin. So basically, the government there enforced stricter illegal immigration laws, so what happens? Illegal immigrants didn’t come to do the farm work there. So now they say there are fields of pumpkins and chili peppers rotting away because no one would pick them. Freaking ridiculous, and people are telling me that immigrants are taking their jobs? BS, if you really believe so, go to Wisconsin and work the fields so those vegetation wouldn’t get wasted.

Then, whats even worst is that now they are suggesting to hire prisoners form the local prison to work the fields. I just can’t believe that! People have said that they don’t like illegal immigrants because they are criminals ( which is not true. ) But now to solve that problem they hire REAL criminals to do the work. Freaking ridiculous. You incriminate people who have not committed a single crime, yet you allow real criminals to do the work??

Funny part is, the farmer said the prisoners aint that good at the field work, so he’ll have to waste time training them.

Today I received a letter from Google with the PIN to my AdSense account. So far I have made about $275 dollars on my AdSense, so with this PIN I will soon be able to take my money OUT. My AdSense earnings are suppose to raise by a lot the longer I am in the game, so hopefully I will be making an extra $500-$1000 dollars soon. It will be nice to have that extra money every month. 8) I am currently looking to refer people to AdSense so that I can help them earn money too. It’s so easy I want to teach all my friends.

gay bitch

Her name is Kaylie, and she’s Uyen’s dog. Hence, she is a bitch. She is also gay. What??? WTF, how do you know she’s gay? Ok ok ok, before you go screaming your head off, let me explain why Kaylie is gay ( or lesbian to be politically correct ).

1) She hump things - other dogs, our pillow, stuff animals. She humps them like she got a penis.
2) She marks her territory - although some female dogs do this, this is most a male behavior

So now that I have justified the title of this post, let me go back to work.

Lets keep updated with the news about vietnam why don’t we:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/usvietnamdiplomacy

The recent arrest of two political dissidents in Vietnam is causing quite a stir globally. It reminds us that although Vietnam is making much progress in terms of economics, there are still some unfinished human rights issues.

Vietnam is like a bowl of Pho. It taste so damn good, but the MSG is going to make you dumb.

paper or plastic

That’s what the people at Nugget always say to me. I always look at them and think to myself, “damn, I should have brought my own bag.” I recommended that in my WiKi ( which you should read and learn something ), but I never practice it myself. Recently, stories of San Francisco trying to ban the use of plastic bags reminds me of the reasons why I recommended people to use non-disposable shopping bags.

Its funny how the idea of bringing your own bag to a grocery store, or not using plastic bags, is so “revolutionary” in this day and age. People make it seem like it would be impossible to get groceries if they don’t get handed 10 plastic bags at the end. I can’t wait to see what happens in San Francisco. Would it be the end of civilization as we know it? Or would there be an increase in incidences of broken eggs in front of grocery stores due to people carting out their grocery goods in both arms?

why I hate black people

I don’t. I don’t hate anyone, well, at least not because of the color of their skin. The way I see it, there are so many other great reasons to hate people, why limit yourself to something that really doesn’t say much about the person’s character. For example, I think its perfectly legit to hate someone because of their taste in TV programming. For example, if a guy watches Gilmore Girls, he’s probably not the kind of guy you would want to be stuck in an elevator with. He would probably talk you to death the way those damn Gilmore Girls won’t stop talking.

But anyways, I digress. The reason I made that comment was because of a recent controversial article in “AsianWeek” magazine. I always thought that magazine was a good outlet for Asian Americans, now, I wouldn’t bother picking up that garbage if they paid me to read it. On top of that, it surprises me that AsianWeek allowed such a bad writer ( and I am not talking about content ) to write for their magazine. I mean come on, I have met plenty of High School kids who can write better than him. Sheesh, how about me? They should have given me a column in it. I bet my daily ranting about nothingness would win over big crowds.

On a serious note, I think that even though we should all condemn such acts of stupidity and misrepresentation, we should also be alarmed at how those thoughts and feelings can still exist today. In fact, in my own life, I have plenty of friends ( of all ethnicity ) who harbor those sorts of sentiments. None of them outrightly expresses their prejudices in fear of social repercussions, but I know that deep down inside they all have those feelings, locked in a box, hidden inside of them. Its sad really.

The other day I came up with a brilliant idea on how to make lots of money, FAST! I ran the idea by my girlfriend and I was hugely hugely hugely disappointed (trust me, I was so excited thinking about the idea when I was driving). My idea was basically to build a network of friends who will download softwares to benefit from Google Ad Referrals. It is completely legal because we are indeed trying out the products. To me, the plan was fail proof. All you had to do was download and try a software and tell all your friends to do the same. It’s simple, easy, and involves no investment. You can potentially make up to $300+ with a little effort.
Uyen basically told me that it wasn’t going work. She says that she would never download a program if someone told her to, so most people wouldn’t either. I was flabbergasted! To be honest, I was pissed at her for being so “simple minded” and not buying into my simple simple plan. I told her she was wrong and that all my friends will download a program if I told them to and they will join me in making tons of money.
Boy was I wrong. I CANNOT believe how f@#Ck5N “unmotivated” (for lack of a better word that is not a curse word) people are. Asking someone to download a software that I recommend (remember, I am a computer expert, people come to me to fix their computer problems) was like pulling teeth. Even knowing that they would help me raise two dollars, some people still would not do something so so so so so simple. I am at a lost for words. Ho ( my friend, not a hooker ) said I am too “optimistic”. I guess.
So my point is: if it did not stink so much, people would probably be too “unmotivated” to wipe their own ass. :x
