buying a new car

We live in a world of craigslist, fatwallet, google, amazon, and digg. Information is abound everywhere, you just have to ask for it.

Yet, for some reason, the world of car buying is driven by a total lack of information and even worse, misinformation.

I wonder why the power of the internet has not revolutionized the car buying experience. Why is car buying still practiced at the dealership and not at home in the comfort of your computer?

I helped my gf buy a 2008 Jetta for $18500. I got my sister a 2008 camry for $18860.

After leaving the dealerships, I always feel ripped off.
